Newsletter, December 2010

This has been a year of CHALLENGE and BLESSING at same time.  Again, our JOURNEY as taken many surprising directions:

JAN we explored ideas with Strong Tower Ministries… and eventually formed a partnership, building the My Father’s House project. We began paperwork for the permits with the City.  Our architect completed the plans and renderings for this amazing, three story Community Center — La Casa de mi Padre!

FEB we attended the Open House for the Door of Faith Orphanage. Plans for La Casa were presented to the DOF volunteers and they embraced our project as their own.  The engineering and Spanish versions of the plans were filed with the City along with several changes — a very challenging process indeed!
APRIL our annual Easter Program, held on the vacant land, also included the revealing of the renderings for this neighborhood’s future Community Center.  The excitement was intense.  We went to the State ofWashington (in August as well) for a Women’s Conference and other God-directed appointments.
MAY we began a partnership with Saddleback Church and several local churches as we came together for a meeting in Rosarito to cast the Vision of La Casa de mi Padre.  The earthquake in Mexicali provided not only a ministry opportunity, but we brought relief supplies to them as well.

JULY 24TH the GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY and our annual Back to School project as well asVacation Bible School events, made this a full day for the neighborhood as well as the volunteers!
AUG we met with Cruise for a Cause leaders. In 2012 we are partnering with a Missions Cruise to Ensenada, Baja California, where volunteers will leave the ship and come to our site to help build the Center.
SUMMER  we brought a breath of hope to the ravaged kids of Haiti.  Not only with supplies, but we conducted several days of Vacation Bible School activities.  Please, continue to pray for Haiti!
EVERY OTHER MONTH our Homeless project continues to provide hot meals in Santa Ana, CA.

Frequent ministry trips took us to Baja, Tecate, and Ensenada — Mexico,  as well as Santa Ana, Riverside, and Lake Elsinore in California.
OCT we were blessed to participate in the first annual Living Waters at the Water Park event organized by our partners, Strong Tower Ministries.  We assisted with the 5K Run-Walk and set up our booth at the Ministry Fair.  We were greatly encouraged by all of the ministries that participated and make many new friends!
NOV officially we received the approval of all permits: fire, environmental studies, etc.  The plans were finalized for a “GO” for construction from City!

AS WE CONCLUDE THIS YEAR we are ready for the building to begin! Donations (large and small) grants, teams of volunteers to build and to keep our annual programs running in 2011 are needed. Christmas in Rosarito, our annual celebration, will be held on December 18th, SaturdayBE SURE TO VISIT OUR WEBSITE FOR ALL THESE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SHARING YOUR TIME AND TREASURE SO WE MAY CONTINUE TO PLANT SEEDS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.
