April 30th was a meeting with several pastors in Ensenada. We discussed the great need for Day Care Centers in Northern Baja as there are more than ample orphanages in these areas. We were asked to share the vision and the plans to inspire them about our project. They visited the land and we prayed for the LORD's provision. Next we visited a ministry for the farmers. We helped them with treats for the kids. This ministry is to teach the kids and the parents how to read and write because most of families come from these little towns from deep inside Mexico and they only speak their own dialect.
May 1st we visited Rancho de Sordo Mudo where we learned about a ministry for kids that were so isolated from the world because they were deaf and unable to communicate with anyone. TM is working toward connecting the deaf ministries in Orange County with this amazing organization. Upon leaving the ranch, we went to Mexicali and visited the valley of the epicenter of the major quake. We partnered with the pastors of this area to help 200 families that were affected by this devastation.
Tiles of Faith fundraising opportunities are up and running. Please prayerfully consider how you will be participating in this delightful opportunity to decorate the building and entrance areas of the Children's Day Care Center. Paint a tile yourself. Have a painting party with your family and friends. Sponsor tiles to be painted by the Baja neighborhood kids. Have your church group put on a community painting fundraising event. The possibilities are endless and so are the number of tiles available to paint. Our Ground Breaking Ceremony will be held at the vacant land site on Saturday, July 24th 10am. During this time there will be a food distribution outreach for the community. The local children (and any adults wishing to participate) will be painting tiles. If you have special talents in face painting and balloon design, please contact us to offer your services. Think of your church groups... this is a great one-day missions trip! Please let us know how many people will be coming so we may assist you in coordinating transportation and meals.
