Trip to India
On a recent 12 day trip to India, Isabel and John Monje flew to Delhi and onto two major areas for potential ministry in the future. This fact finding mission was short and impactful as the first stop was in DD (Dehrdaun) city, where good friends Sandy and David Jackson are stationed with Wycliffe for a second two year term. Sandy’s a great networker and has many contacts with women’s groups, prayer teams, HIV outreaches, pastors who run orphanages, and local NGO’s working to help women’s faith.
For your prayers the name of the local church is Nav Jiwan Church. In only three days, it was clear that the smallest donation of pencils/pens/paper, chairs and a carpet made the whole difference in a local orphanage running a school with NO supplies. The pastor was so touched and grateful. It was a true blessing to see the joy on his face and John and I pledged to help them build overhangs for protection against the warm rain for those trying to do school outside under the elements. There was much talk about a women’s conference next spring for over one hundred women to learn and grow in Christ.
Then John and Isabel traveled to Chennai, where another well-established ministry was educating girls, disciplining new believers, and reaching out into the community to help meet the many needs. Isabel fell in love with a group of widows, (many that were of an elderly age) who have no support at all and the local pastor has been trying to set up a program for income production of some kind. The Lord pierced Isabel’s heart with these ladies, and this is likely to become another ministry of Transformacion Mundial in the near future.
Be on the lookout for more information soon about these opportunities. This is the start of something God driven and wonderful in India for all of us here who watch how God grows ministries. Be sure to ask any questions or make suggestions to us via this website. Your participation is invaluable.
